1. Click "Register" on the top the page and fill in the registration form.
2. You will get an email with a confirmation link. This email will come automatically within a few minutes. Click the link and you will be able to open your own channel at Floobs.
3. Fill in the Channel info and sign in with your user name and password. Then you can start producing your own channel and viewing others.
When you register as a user at floobs you automatically get you own Channel and Media Library. Click "Home" in the top right hand corner of the page to get access to your starting page. Your starting page lists your channels (just one for now) and shows the clips in your Media Library.
Click "Edit your Channel page" to go to your public Channel page. On the Channel page you can use the toolbar to edit you pages (e.g. add text or remove components).
Click "Broadcast live" to open the Floobs camera pop-up. This allows you to start live streaming directly to your channel from a webcam attached or embedded to your computer.
Click "Live VJ" to open the Live VJ pop-up. With the Live VJ tool you can mix clips to your live stream and direct which channels goes out of your Live VJ.
You can upload video clips to your Media Library on your home page. The clips in your Media Library will loop on your Channel. To upload your video clip, click the 'Upload' link at the top right corner of the component. Click 'browse' to select the video file you want to upload from your computer. Name the clip and give description of what your video is about.
A good description is accurate and interesting and will help people find the video later on. You can also add as many tag words as you like separated by commas or spaces. Tags help other people find videos. Select the right category for your video from the the drop-down menu. Finally click the 'upload' button. The video will start uploading and will appear shortly in your Media Library. If the file is very large it may take a while...
Making a live broadcast requires no installed software: all you need is a computer with an internet connection and a webcamera. On your starting page "Broadcast live" next to your channel name. This will open the Floobs camera pop-up.
The pop-up asks your permission to transmit video to floobs from your webcamera. Click "Allow". Then click "Floobs" and give a tag word or title for your live broadcast. When the red light lghts up your transmission is being broadcasted to your channel live.
Floobs supports at least the following video formats: mpg, .mov, avi, mp4, divx, 3gp. Currently Floobs does not limit the size of the videos.
Broadcasting live video from digital video cameras attached to the computer with a firewire cable is also possible. Please check wiki.floobs.com for more information on that.
Floobs allows you to add, remove and modify components on your own Home page, your user profile page and your public channel page with drag-and-drop tools.
Using the toolbar to edit your page:
You can edit your Home page, your Channel page and your User Profile page. You can select which components to remove or add. For example you can add text components describing your channel or remove the commenting component if you wish to. The toolbar is visible in the top left of the page when you are on a page that you have permission to edit.
Adding components:
To add a component click the "plus sign" on the toolbar. Then select the left or middle column to add the new component to by clicking the plus sign a the bottom of the column. Then select which component to add from the list (e.g. paragraph for adding a text field).
Removing components:
By clicking the "minus sign" you can then click the component you want to remove from your page.
Changing the order of components:
You can change the place of page components by just dragging them using this 'move' tool.
Editing text components:
You can add text in the page with clicking the area you want by selecting the "T" tool and the text that you want to modify.
Floobs is not responsible for the copyrights of the videoclips, but will takedown any content that is reported as infringing a third-party's copyright. Each user is responsible for the content she/he has provided to the Floobs service. Floobs users are comitted to the policies of the Floobs service and may be banned from the service if they violate these policies.
